page 6-alone
Dave. His name rang in her mind.
'Help me!' she screamed, desperately clawing at the air,
trying to grip at it.
'I'm drowning! Help! Someone! Please!' water swirled over
her head, the current slowly but persistently dragging her
down.
'Help!' she mouthed, her hand streched upwards, her heart
clinging on to the hope that someone, anyone would grab it,
wind their fingers around hers and bring her back to where she
could breathe again. 'Help!'
Her eyelids began to shut slowly as her limp body hit the rocks.
An olive-toned hand shot through the waters, gripping her limp, white
one. Her savior pulled her up roughly and she felt the fingers of the
current losing their grip and giving up.
It was as if they were whispering,'It's not worth it. She's not
worth it.' before slinking away.
'Are you alright?' green eyes peered into her midnight blue ones.
'I'm fine. Who..who are you?' she asked him.
'My name's Jer...'
'Where are you going? Tell me your name!' she screamed as the boy with
green eyes faded from her side.
Breathing heavily, she awoke, beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
She walked to the balcony and threw open the glass door, sighing as she
drank in the fresh air.
The sound of waves lapping by the shore lulled her mind and drew her thoughts
to when she'd met Dave.
The heavily scarred face and body hid a gentle exterior and she smiled
gently as she thought of him.
How patiently he'd answer her questions and tried to calm her fears
even though he had no clue what she was afraid of.
The doctor had found nothing.
Her heart quickened as she recalled her examination.
She was so afraid she would be found out.
In the end, nobody suspected a thing. But still.
She did not belong here.
To be continued...
