Page 4 -alone.

Her eyelids fluttered gently as she began regaining consciousness
and her fingers probed the spot beside her.
'Why is it so soft?' she wondered. 'Ugh. Don't tell me I fell asleep on some drug-addict's
mattress again.'

Yawning she sat up and rubbed her eyes before opening them. 'Wait. This isn't. This isn't the
street. Where am I? Am I dreaming?' Bewildered, she looked around.
Her forefinger and her thumb pinched the hollow of her cheek.

It stung.

'Okayy. So this is not a dream. Where am I...?' with a gasp, the memories of the
night before came flooding into her mind.
'Oh.'
Faye's words floated into her mind. 'You're in a safe place.'
Slowly she pulled the coverlet around her, noticing for the first time how soft it was.
'Mmm. Made of duck's feathers. How luxurious.' She breathed in the scent of the room.

The aroma of fresh pancakes filled her nostrils, teasing her senses and successfully
causing her stomach to growl.
Slipping on her slippers, she padded into the hallway, following
the delicious aroma that lead her into a futuristic kitchen, equipped with the latest cooking
utensils.

On the marble bar before her was a plate of the most delicious pancakes she'd ever seen
in her life. 'Good morning.' Faye smiled at her. 'Had a good night's rest?'
Swallowing the drool that threatened to spill over her lips, she nodded.
'Thanks.'

'Have some.' Faye pointed at the pancakes with her spatula.
Liana declined. 'Abrrrrrr.' Her stomach growled.
'Haha. See. You are hungry.' Faye pushed the plate towards her. 'Come on,
eat up. And finish it. Because finishing my food means you like it. And i consider that a compliment
and i love compliments.'

Nodding her thanks, Liana grabbed the plate and wolfed down her pancakes.
All the while, Faye watched her curiously.
'You know. You're really so much like..'she sighed. 'What am I talking about?'

'So, Liana. Where are you from?' Faye asked. 'Because when i first found you,
you dropped from sky.'
'Are you an angel?' Faye winked.

'Angel?' she looked down shyly. 'I think you're one.' she looked at
Faye with her innocent lapis lazuli eyes wide open, the lashes framing her beautiful
irises.

'An angel? Me? Far from it.' Faye snorted. 'So back to my question, where are you from?'

'Nowhere.' Liana mumbled.

to be continued! :) see ya!
